A Safe Haven Marriage

Creating a Marriage You Want to Come Home To

Feeling lonely in your marriage? Does your relationship leave you feeling empty?

Recently Pope Francis noted;

“Marriage is a friendship marked by passion, but a passion always directed to an ever more stable and intense union. This is because ‘marriage was not instituted solely for the procreation of children’ but also that mutual love ‘might be properly expressed, that it should grow and mature’. (AL, 125)

The goal of a Sacramental marriage is to form a lifelong friendship with your spouse. You might call this a safe haven marriage.  A marriage that makes us feel safe, connected and fulfilled.

Modern psychology has identified distinct styles of attachment which affect your relationships.

Participants will be given the opportunity to take an attachment styles survey. This will help you to know yourself better, and to identify the underlying source of conflicts in your relationships.

Join the Bishop Helmsing Institute’s Scott McKellar for The Safe Haven Marriage (4 Weeks) in the St. Regis parish hall on Wednesday evenings, March 8, 15, 29 and April 5 (6:30-8:00 pm).  Contact Glen Ernstmann at (816) 204-7267 to request child care.  Cost is by donation.  Register at myBHI.org
